Q: A storm came by about two weeks ago and now my Internet is not working. I got a new modem but the Ethernet light will not turn on. It’s not the cord or modem, so what else could it be? A: When lightning strikes directly or even near your house or office, the electrical surge will travel as far as it possibly can via any conductive route it can find. Most commonly it travels all over your house via the electrical wiring. This means anything you have plugged into a wall socket runs the risk of being damaged or even destroyed by the excess current….
